Guests choose a place from photos. A printed wall gives a hotel or rental the shot people post, and the reason a listing stands out in a scroll.
Hotels and resorts
- Lobby statement walls with local landmarks or history
- Headboard murals, different in every room
- Elevator lobby and hallway art by floor
- Pool, spa and fitness area themes
- Conference rooms branded for events
Short-term rentals
- One signature wall guests photograph
- Local maps and neighborhood scenes
- Themed rooms that set the listing apart
- Patio and outdoor walls for evening photos
What to plan for
- Hospitality work repeats. Pitch a refresh schedule and a design for every new property.
- Check the wall finish in older buildings. Glossy or chalky paint needs prep.
- Get a photo release so the finished room can go in your portfolio.
How to pitch it
The best prospects have a wall people see every day, a reason to change now, like an opening, a rebrand or a renovation, someone you can reach who decides, and a budget for signage, decor or branding already. Start with hotel general managers, property management companies, rental hosts with more than one property and hospitality designers.
The walk-in takes about 20 seconds:
“Hi, I’m [name] with [your business]. We print full-color murals and graphics straight onto walls, right here in [city]. Can I show you what that wall would look like with your logo on it?”
Take a photo of the wall, mock the design up on it, and follow up with an email in two days and a call in a week. Most jobs aren’t lost to price. They’re lost to a follow-up that never happened.
Questions people ask
Can you print in an occupied hotel?
Yes. Owners usually print room by room, around bookings, with the area roped off.
How long does a lobby wall take?
It depends on size and detail. At 10 to 20 square feet an hour, a 120 square foot wall is about six to twelve hours of print time.
