The best thing you can do before buying a wall printer is talk to people who own one. Not the quotes on a website, ours included, but a real conversation where you can ask follow-up questions. Ask us and we’ll put you in touch with owners. Ask any other seller for the same. Here’s what to ask once you’re on the phone.
About the work
- What kind of walls do you print most?
- Where do your clients come from?
- How long did it take to book your first paying job?
- What do you wish you’d known in your first three months?
About pricing
- What do you charge per square foot, and does that change by surface?
- Do you have a minimum charge?
- How do you quote travel and setup?
About the machine
- What surprised you about running it?
- How long do setup and breakdown take you on a typical job? Ours take about 30 minutes.
- Have you had to replace a print head? What happened?
- How do you fit the maintenance into your week?
About support
- When did you last call support, and how did it go?
- Has anything taken longer to fix than you expected?
- Would you buy the same printer again?
How to get the straight version
Ask about a job that went wrong. Every owner has one, and how they talk about it tells you more than how they talk about their best wall. Ask what they’d do differently. And if you can, ask more than one owner, including someone who’s been at it for a year or more.

It wasn’t the printer and it wasn’t necessarily me. My ink had expired. Once I swapped the ink, the printer was perfect.
I’ve learned that if I’m going to offer something, I practice it here first so I’m not over-promising.
A few owners in their own words
“I had just hand painted our logo in our office lobby, and it took me a week. As soon as we saw the printer, I was like, my gosh, we could have done that in an hour.” Kelly J., Modrn Ink, Madison, AL.
“It’s rare these days to find a company that still answers the phone, follows up, and actually cares about customer success after the sale.” Ernie F., Wilmington, NC.
