You can find imported wall printers for a fraction of the price of a printer package from The Wall Printer®. Some of them print well. The fair question isn’t which machine is better in a photo. It’s what you get for the difference, and what happens on the day something goes wrong. Here’s how to compare them honestly.
Test them the same way
If you’re seriously considering both, compare them on the same terms:
- The same artwork file
- The same surface, or as close as you can get
- The same resolution setting
- Timed setup, print and breakdown
- Close-up photos of the finished print
Bring your file to a demo in Wilmington and we’ll print it. Ask the other seller to do the same. If a seller won’t print your file, that tells you something too.
Compare what’s in the box
A printer package from The Wall Printer® includes the printer, starter ink, RIP and layout software with no annual fee, a customer care kit, one full day of training for your whole team, lifetime support and up to five years of hardware warranty. White ink is standard on all three machines. When you price an import, add up what it would cost to get each of those.
Compare what happens after the sale
This is where most of the price difference sits. Ask every seller:
- Who answers when you call, and what are the hours? Ours are 9am to 8pm ET, seven days a week.
- Where do parts ship from, and how long does that take?
- Is training included, how long is it, and can you go back to it?
- What does the warranty cover, for how long, and who handles a claim?
- Where does ink come from, and what happens if it’s back-ordered?
- Can you talk to owners who’ve had the machine for a year or more? We’ll put you in touch with ours.
If you’re price-oriented, if you’re looking to get into this as cheaply as possible, you’re going to have trade-offs. We spent more because we were going to get more.
There are two kinds of companies. One sells you a product and then you’re on your own. I wanted a group of people in the background who were committed to my success as much as I was.
Count the days it doesn’t print
The cost of a printer isn’t only the price. It’s also the jobs you can’t do while it’s down. A week waiting on a part or an answer can cost more than the savings on the machine. Ask each seller how they’d handle a problem on a Saturday with a client job on Monday.
Our prices, in full
Printer packages start at $29,995 for certified reconditioned. The Tech Series and the Floor Series are $39,995, and the Pro Series is $44,995. Your printer, your training and your support all come from Wilmington, NC.
A cheaper machine can be the right call for some buyers. The goal is that you make it knowing what you’re comparing.
