Warehouses and plants: logos, bay numbers and markings printed in place

Custom garage wall mural printed directly onto an interior wall using a commercial UV wall printer.

Warehouses and plants have the biggest walls and the hardest floors. They also have the most signs: bay numbers, zone colors, safety reminders and the logo on the end wall. A wall printer and a floor printer put all of it on the surface itself, at 10 to 20 square feet an hour.

What gets printed

  • Bay and aisle numbers. Large, high and readable from a lift.
  • Zone colors. Receiving, shipping, staging and quality, color-coded on walls and floors.
  • Logos and brand walls. The end wall, the break room and the visitor entrance.
  • Floor markings. Lines, arrows and zones on concrete, printed with the Floor Series.
  • Metal. Corrugated walls, doors and panels.

Why print it instead of hanging it

Signs come down, get hit and get lost. Decals peel off concrete when the forklift turns. A printed graphic is part of the surface. When the layout changes, the area gets painted or cleaned and reprinted.

What to plan for

Every floor is different, and forklifts wear a floor differently than foot traffic. Safety managers and insurers will ask about markings, so bring their requirements to the first call. The team will give you a recommendation for each area, including whether a floor needs a clear coat. Fire rating, cleaning and floor wear covers what to ask.

Who does the work

Facilities teams with several buildings often buy a printer and run it on their own schedule. The Floor Series package is $39,995 and the vertical printers start at $39,995. The in-house page and the cost model show how that compares with what you pay now. See all of the warehouse and plant applications.
