New York, November 17, 2022. A printer from The Wall Printer® is part of the last stop of Louis Vuitton’s “200 Trunks, 200 Visionaries: The Exhibition.” The traveling exhibition marks the 200th anniversary of Louis Vuitton’s birth, and its final leg runs through December 31, 2022 at the former Barneys flagship store in New York City.
The printer sits in the store’s Madison Avenue display window, next to the exhibit entrance. It runs through the day, printing large poster-style images of the trunk designs on display inside.
About the exhibition
The exhibition brings together 200 Louis Vuitton trunks, each with artwork by one of 200 artists, designers, thinkers and visionaries. The list includes Marc Jacobs with Stephen Sprouse, Kim Jones with Supreme, activist Gloria Steinem, makeup artist Pat McGrath, architects Frank Gehry and Peter Marino, and cognitive scientist Scott Barry Kaufman. Entry is free, and tours can be reserved online.
Why a printer in a window works
A print in progress stops people on the sidewalk. Owners see the same thing on job sites every week: people watch, film and ask what else it can print on. That’s why so many owners treat every print as marketing. Read more in every print is a live show.
Want people stopping on the sidewalk? Ask the team how owners turn a print in progress into their best marketing.
